Run by The Spirits Business as part of The Global Spirits Masters Competitions, The Gin Masters is the largest blind gin tasting in the world. Every entry is judged purely on what is in the glass. Bottles, brands and stories are hidden from the panel, so the only thing that earns a medal is the liquid itself.
Judged blind, by the people who know gin best
The 2026 First Tasting was held in June at The Cumberland hotel in London, where four panels of leading spirits specialists worked through this year's entrants. The judges included editors of The Spirits Business, senior buyers from the likes of Harvey Nichols, respected drinks writers and consultants, and some of the most experienced palates in the trade.
Medals are awarded on merit rather than by ranking. Each gin is scored on its own, and only those that clear a high quality threshold are recognized at Silver, Gold or Master level. Gins that fall short of that bar receive nothing at all. A medal at The Gin Masters is therefore a genuine mark of quality, not a participation prize.
A Silver among the world's ultra-premium gins
Gatsby Gin's Silver came in the Ultra-Premium category, the most demanding in the entire competition. This is where the world's finest and most expensive gins are poured side by side, and where expectations sit at their highest.
In that same category, Gatsby Gin was tasted alongside some of the most celebrated names in gin, from Monkey 47 and Gin Mare to No.3 London Dry, Citadelle and Sweden's multi-award-winning Hernö. Craft you can taste: a modern American gin
Gatsby Gin is a modern American premium gin, distilled in small batches with a carefully composed botanical profile. Classic juniper forms the backbone, lifted by bright citrus from lemon peel and bitter orange peel, warmed by cardamom, cassia bark and a distinctive note of golden turmeric, and rounded out with orris root, angelica, coriander and licorice. The botanicals are the reason it survived that room.

The Silver at The Gin Masters follows the brand's iF Gold Award 2025, won in the Packaging Design discipline for the Art Deco bottle. What Gatsby Gin Has Won Since
The Gin Masters Silver was the first of several. At the 2026 ADI International Spirits Competition Gatsby took a Double Gold Medal for Excellence in Packaging, a second Silver in the Classic Gin category, and a place on the shortlist for America's Best Negroni.
The two Silvers come from two separate competitions and two separate panels, so they count as two. Gatsby Gin now holds five credentials from three independent juries: three decided in the glass, and two decided on the bottle.
The Gin Masters names its overall Taste Master later in the year, once the second tasting is complete. For now, House of Gatsby is raising a glass to a result that puts Gatsby Gin firmly among the gins worth seeking out.
