Double Gold Medal, Excellence in Packaging, Bottle Design. Double Gold is the top tier of ADI's packaging awards. The judges were assessing the object: the glass, the geometry, the way a bottle announces itself on a back bar before anyone has poured anything.

An award-winning gin, in the only sense worth claiming, is one that a blind panel scored without knowing whose bottle it was judging. The phrase gets used loosely, so here is exactly what stands behind Gatsby's.
At ADI, every entry is assessed by expert panels who taste each spirit without knowing the producer or the brand. No label, no story, no distillery tour. The medals run Bronze for good, Silver for very good, Gold for exceptional, and Double Gold, which requires every judge on the panel to independently score the spirit 90 or above.
A blind panel has no idea whose bottle it is holding. Only the glass gets a vote, which is the whole point: a room of strangers with no reason to be kind is the only jury whose verdict is worth repeating.
Gatsby has now done that twice in one year, in two separate competitions. In July the gin took Silver in the Ultra-Premium category at The Gin Masters 2026. These are two different medals from two different panels, and we count them as two.
Double Gold for the Bottle
The Double Gold was awarded to the bottle, judged as an object rather than tasted, and it is the second time an independent jury has reached that verdict.
The Gatsby bottle was drawn to do a specific job: to look like it had already been standing on a bar for a hundred years, and to be the reason someone reaches past six other bottles to pick it up. That is a design brief, not a marketing line, and design briefs either work or they do not.
In 2025 the bottle took an iF Gold Award for packaging design, the top tier of one of the world's longest-running design prizes, judged by a panel of designers. In 2026 it took Double Gold at ADI, judged by a panel of spirits people. Two rooms, two entirely different sets of criteria, one bottle.
Shortlisted for America's Best Negroni
The best gin for a Negroni is a narrower category than it sounds.
A Negroni is one part gin against two assertive partners, sweet vermouth and Campari, both of which are perfectly happy to bulldoze a delicate spirit. Softer contemporary gins vanish in it. What survives is a gin with enough juniper spine and bitter-citrus structure to argue back and still be audible in the finish.
At 44.8% ABV, ninety proof, Gatsby was built with that kind of backbone. ADI's Perfect Pour judges shortlisted it among the American gins that hold their shape in a Negroni. If you are building the drink at home, this is a bottle that will not disappear into it.

The category's prestige has always had an accent. It has not been an American one.
